You already have several very good sources. One that I frequently use that I did not see mentioned is the World Bank. The link is: http://datatopics.worldbank.org/hnp/popestimates I find it easy and love the population pyramids that for my work are very important since you can get a snapshot of the age distributions. I believe you can also access data in the system.
