The key difference is emphasis in different organisational settings or industry sectors. The 1) inputs: tools, skills and organizational format will always change to reflect and match prevailing conditions. The same applies to: 2) Techniques, costs and efficiency of performing marketing tasks as well as; 3) the outcomes, consequences and impact of marketing, including how to account for those outcomes and consequences.

To illustrate the point, the marketing philosophy is well articulated in a piece titled "Marketing Myopia." In terms of emphasis, different industry sectors put emphasis on different combinations of the Four (4) P's and so do start ups, compared to established and growing companies, versus established/mature but declining industries and firms.

Currently, viral internet marketing is developing dynamically based on social media portals and customer data collected and processed in Big Data Analytics analytical databases. In recent years, new internet marketing instruments have also been developed, mainly used on social media portals, and are also used by companies operating in the e-commerce sector. In view of the above, the development of e-commerce is determined mainly by technological progress in the field of ICT information technologies and advanced data processing technologies Industry 4.0 and new technologies used in securing financial transactions carried out via the Internet, including e-commerce related transactions, e.g. technology blockchain. The introduction of 5G technology will contribute to the development of internet marketing. Over the next few years, marketing based on a predictive concept will be developed, referring to the avatars of individual Internet users built in Big Data Analytics systems, to which a precisely profiled marketing message will be directed not only reminding about what a potential customer of specific products and services is interested in but also suggesting to the potential consumer those specific products and services which he should now be interested in or which he will immediately be interested in but he does not know about it yet. I have described the above issues of various aspects of the application of information systems and ICT, including Big Data, Business Intelligence in companies operating on the Internet in my scientific publications available on the Research Gate portal.
