Interesting question indeed. Advanced economies will hit more and the cost maybe uncountable
given its architecture, i am not certain whether a complete shutdown is technically possible.
the question can be restated as: can the internet be allowed to fail anymore?
the question is also similar to the cost of a complete power grid blackout
I agree. A worldwide shut down at a time is prevented through the decentralized structure. The cost will be huge.
