What will happen if I rinse my membrane with methanol every time?

I tried to rinse my membrane (for western) every time before reprobing new primary antibody, but sometimes the signal disappeared. Does anyone have similar experiences?

There will not be any effect of washing with Methanol at a normal temperature & without catalyst.
