Normally, a virus –replicates or makes copies of itself and occasionally changes a little bit, which is natural for a virus. These changes are referred to “mutations”. A virus with new mutation is referred to as a “variant” of the original virus. It was reported that most viral mutations have little or no impact on the virus’s ability to cause infections and disease. But depending on where the changes are located in the virus’s genetic material, they may affect a virus’s properties, such as transmission or severity. What are the impacts of new variants of the COVID-19 virus?
Mutations and emerging of new variants of SARS-CoV-2 is still under research. But it is known that the new variants in UK and South Africa could not change the virulence of the virus. Someone say that it makes the virus easily transmissible.

Whether a single or a combination of different mutations would change the viral transmissibility, virulence, clinical and epidemiological presentations, or vaccine efficiency is unknown. Transmission by asymptomatic carriers of the new variant is also unknown. Therefore in present situation it is important to know about what are the impacts of new variants of the COVID-19 virus?

1. The variant of virus may have increased transmissibility, especially on unimmunized population (young age group).
2. There is always concern about the increase of severity of the infection. However, we have not seen such report as yet.
3. The question has been raised if the first generation vaccines from Moderna, Pfeizer or J&J would be effective against the variants. So far, the antibody titer
raised after vaccination still remain effective against the new variants up to now.
4. The next concern is if the new variant would find unexpected susceptible population, like those with known chronic illness, pregnant women or children, etc.
It remains to be seen.

Akm Shahidur Rahman, I think the impacts of new variants (Delta and others) of the COVID-19 virus will be more harmful to the people. We should be prepared against that through vaccination of all the people of a country. Otherwise, we have to lose a lot of people.
In the Southern Africa, the Delta variant killed more people and has been contiguous. We are scared the next variant can be more deadly and contagious.
The Delta variant causes more infections and spreads faster than early forms of SARS-CoV-2; might cause more severe illness than previous strains in unvaccinated persons; poses the greatest risk of transmission among unvaccinated people; fully vaccinated people with Delta variant breakthrough infections can spread the virus to others. However, vaccinated people appear to be infectious for a shorter period.

The impacts of new variants of Covid_19 depends on the kind of variants,so at least 3000 variants of the cause of Covid_19,most of these variants are spontinously disappear without any impact effect while other variants are faced by two shots ofFizer,Astra zeneca,J&J vaccine(one shot),Moderna.among these variants faced by mentioned vaccines B1,Alpha,Beta,Gamma and Delta while lambada is the serious one which can escape from immunological system.

Those who are having less immune power may be easily vulnerable to the new Delta variant of the SARS COV-2.
Some are genectically stronger to overcome these viruses but it is highly adviceable to take vaccination.
All are in confused state of mind that even vaccinated one has to take third vaccine also.
It is never ending process of being protected ourselves.
More lock downs and job losses. It will also lead to high rate acceptance of vaccine.
Direct impact of a new variant will lead to increased infection and death.
Indirect impact will cause lockdowns, job losses and poverty.
I think this new variant will affect the social / economic status of each society, which will have a negative impacts on income, education and employment. I hope this crisis will end.
The main impact of new variants of SARS-CoV-2 is the development of the current COVID-19 vaccines (modification or production of new vaccines) to face the new variants.

I think the psychological impact is the most important, since each society, whatever its ethnicity, is just terrified by the evocation of the term covid.
The economic crisis that this pandemic has generated is also terrible but we hope that we will close this chapter soon.

I expect new mutations in the Omicron variant to result in a non-virulent strain of the virus. I hope so.

depends on kind of variant e.g The worst impact variant is Lambada which appear in Mexeco and Cheli because posses abality to escape from defence and immunological cell of the body while recently reported Omicron variant in England and India cause signes like "cold".
