Greetings! I am running a tag and release experiment to examine the dispersion of abalone released for ranching. Due to the cryptic nature of the animals it is very difficult to track their movement and dispersion. We want to test if attaching metal tags to the shell will allow divers more readily locate the animals to record the distance that each moves from the origin of release. I am trying to determine if anyone has done similar tests and what would the best metals and metal detectors be for this experiment.
