i want to use Fixed Bed Reactor for my research study of "Coupling of Sulfur and nitrate in wastewater treatment". Now i m trying to select a best catalyst for the reactor.
Fixed bed reactor usually uses for gas phase reactions. Here, you may use a column as adsorbent. GAC impregnated by soda, anion exchange resins, activated clays,... may be good candidates. Another method is photocatalyst using TiO2.
Catalytic reactions, for my opinion, would not help you to solve the problem, if the water is at room temperature and the sulfur is highly dispersed. To get free of sulfur you could try flotation and to get free of nitrate , ion exchange could be a good solution. To understand your problem, it would be helpful to know more about your system and your targets.
