Do microplate materials and their different kinds(round bottom, flat bottom) affect the absorbance reading of analyte?
We have Epoch gen5 version3 microplate reader for reading absorbance data of the sample.
A 96-well clear-bottom black color micro-titer plate (NUNC cat. nr. 165305).
round bottom would distort the optical path, should be flat. Depending on used wavelength range, you might need UV-transparent plates...
What are you measuring? What wavelength? What volume are you able to use?
Geoff Margison, We are measuring absorbance of normal analyte, for quantification of phenol, flavonoids. Wavelength is in visible range. Volume used is 200 microliter.

My own experience demonstrated that the kind of bottom could affect absorbance reading. So flat bottom is recommended for chemicals analyis and round botton for microbial process.
