Hi, I am modelling a low Reynolds release of gas through sintered plate (microporous media) which is then combusted. The plate is approximated as surface with mass flow inlet boundary condition. I use Eddy breakup + k-epsilon standard.
I think you need to evaluate the dissipation rate at the boundary. My evaluation example is very formalistic, because turbulent exchange does not exist here:
Eps = k3/2 / le , where k-turbulent kinetic energy (5-10% of mean kinetic energy), le- scale size for pores.
I think the effective viscosity will be near molecular value at the boundary.
It would be interesting to use Bouleev's anisotropic model for turbulence in the case. The directed scale for turbulence normal to wall will be null so obvious and physically clear. See my investigation for the model.
