I'm a master geotechnical engineering student and I can't work in the lab for personal reasons . I will be grateful if anyone suggest me a topic that can be done by numerical modelling .
You can choose any of the following problems:
1. Soil-structure interaction problems such as modeling of soil-pile interaction problems
2. Analysis of seepage problems in unsaturated soils
3. Numerical modeling of triaxial/direct shear tests/consolidation tests

If you do not do the experiment, you will study a geotechnical problem whose test data are available in the literature.
You must to look for a material that has been studied experimentally in the same frame of your numerical study such as :
elasticity, elastoplasticity, viscoelasticity, viscoplasticity problems
