We got an old Nikon C1 confocal mounted on a TE2000-E inverted motorised microscope. The lasers are 408, 488 and 543 nm. They not so well aligned to the coupling fiber. Intensities are oscillating when we run the 488 laser cooling fan. The software is a bit buggy and very outdated. It could only run on WinXP.

We have another good and recent confocal, but I wonder if we could improve this one and extend its life a little. Maybe a third party software ? Replacing the lasers or coupling optics ? Replace PMTs for better ones ?

What would you do ?
