In order to identify them, nothing is better than collecting specimens, but I guess you are expecting other answers. Then, photos of dorsal and ventral sides of wings will help. One of them is not sufficient enough to identify. I t really depends on which group and which taxonomic category (species, genus, etc) you are focusing on.
besides collecting the specimen, photographing the live specimen will do too (but make sure to have full body view, not just the wings, includes the antenna and the abdomen as some has patterns on the body too). Since you are sampling in agroecosystem, also best to expect what possible species would occurred based on the crop species planted there (relating to host plant).
As for second question, you are referring to sampling method or data analysis method?
Hello Sir Lee. I am sorry, I did not specify. If you could can you tell me what data analysis method do I apply for this? because for sampling I am using Transect sampling and opportunistic method.
The usual data analysis for diversity are Shannon, Simpson, Margalef, Pielou evenness and Chao species estimation. You can find out more about this from Magurran, A. E. (2004) Measuring biological diversity.
If you were looking for statistic analysis, that would need refer to your sampling objectives (testing hypothesis, correlation, etc).
