What anesthesia is safest for use in patients with CYP3A4? Are there specific diagnostic tests that should precede surgeries requiring anesthesia? This patient has not been tested for CYP3A4 but has a family history of severe adverse effects from anesthesia (one family member's BP and HR declined rapidly close to death). Patient has basal & squamous cell cancer, abdominal aortic aneurysm, elevated BP in left eye, and BP below minimum for age (that has historically been the norm for patient). How would you best advocate for this patient?
