Hello everyone, I have grown Arabidopsis thaliana Col-0 and few other mutants. I have noticed different colours on the stalk of leaves & siliques as shown in the below pictures (A - Arabidopsis thaliana Col-0, B - At mutant line).
What could be the possible causes of the reddening of stalk of leaf and siliques?
How could this phenotype be illustrated in terms of stresses e.g. (a)biotic stresses, nutrient deficiency etc. and/or any known genotypes?

The red color of stalk and dark green color of leaves is usually developed due to increased light intensity or increase in intensity of light belonging to a particular wavelength, such as, blue wavelength, and sometimes higher temperature could also be the reason. If the plants you showed are two different genotypes under same growth conditions, then it could be genotypic effects. See clearly, in addition to red color, the leaf petiols are thicker in B1 compared to A1. To further confirm this, grow these plants again. This time select the area with medium light intensity.

Thanks Usman for your nice suggestions. The both genotypes are grown under same light and growth conditions. However, I'll try to grow them again to evaluate & reconfirm and also with diff. growth conditions (low temperature & light etc).
To me it looks like an antocyanin light response. The pathway is relatively well known, although it can have all kinds of less-known inputs or mutants leading to similar results.

maybe you can start with the article referenced below and if that's not enough, keep searching. Don't have anything else at hand. In the past, I witnessed this response under high light conditions in a growth chamber.
