For my research on Shea butter and the effects of storage I want to use a simple method to analyze the minerals in my fat/oil. Especially the redox-active metals because of their catalytic properties on aldehyde reaction and auto oxidation and in fat/oil products. The two most important metals are Fe2+, Cu2+, but also other redox active metals could be interesting. A method which could be used is the “Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy and Ion Chromatography” but this method is quite expensive to perform. A cheaper and preferably simpler method would be better.
