For euthanasia we use Pentobarbital in the drug called ”Morbital” which has an oily consistency. According to some guidelines (e.g. AAALAC) we should intraperitoneally euthanize laboratory animals using dilute (the same dosage in bigger volume) Morbital. Does anyone know what medium should I use?

Since original Nembutal (pentobarbital) comes in a vial containing pentobarbital solubilized in a 10% alcohol, does alcohol needs to be added when preparing a diluted pentobarbital solution for mice to maintain that 10% alcoholic environment?
