Adherence to Ethical principles of beneficence, non-maleficence, veracity, confidentiality, autonomy, respect for human rights.

Creativity, knowledge and imagination are the essence of an individual who thrives to be authoritative and distinctive in any field.

Also, I believe that a good researcher should often be appropriately a maverick as in a non-conformist individual who thinks in a non-linear way to break out of often misconstrued or conventionally believed but controversial subjects. Courage to suggest disputatious results or report negative results in order to get better feedback on possible shortcomings as well as avoidance of data manipulation and impartiality or objectiveness are also of great, fundamental but hard to accomplish qualities of a good and burgeoning researcher.

Unbiased researchers can accept results and findings that might be contrary to what they believe but find them rational, conceivable or even practicable at some point. Being good at teamwork and cooperative is also a prerogative for prospective researchers.

Thus, I believe that a good researcher should not only be creative, imaginative, experienced and knowledgeable in his or her own field, but also be impartial, analytic and accepting of unorthodox but rational ideas of others.

Stay updated, keep high ethical and quality work, seek expert advice, network and keep your time frame.

There is 3 different factors that makes the essence of a researcher. The theoretical knowledge on the subject(s), the actual practical experiences, and the personality and philosophical thoughts. The respected colleagues here have mentioned them all in this discussion. I believe all 3 should be paid attention too and are very important, however, the most important ones are the personality and the thoughts of the researcher. Unbiased researchers that can tolerate and think about opposing ideas and findings, contribute more to the advancement of the knowledge.

Work, colaboration, study, pations, thinks, converstion, reading, experimenting....................

Researcher is a personal of study ,concentration with the way of thinking phase & he may determine the line of action . It is in the similar line I have expressed my views more than 2 years back which I submit herewith for your perusal

A researcher has in his mind the overall impact of his vision of his program on his research.  He does himself his own research world sincere study ,hard work , & his devotion on his project plan of his research .

It is his own task & he endorsed himself on it. Due to this there is every possibility to judge he remains very often totally silent in his behavior . 

Due to the above line of his working for his thesis ,he remains sincere,not for himself but also for others.Besides due to his visionary task , he his behavior with others remains exemplary with his honest , & sincere & integrity approach for his line.

Dear all, a good researcher is the one who follows all inovations concerned by his field of research, who shows respect to all researcher in the past and present by citing clearly their contributions, who put aside his personal convictions which hurt other people, who is open mind to accept critcs and corrections. Patience, hard working, ethics, professional and honesty.

Tenacity, perseverance, ready to accept his/her faults, more reading and less writing, oriented toward applications and technology rather than considering fantasy of science, refraining copied works by thoroughly reviewing other works, not overlooking marginal changes.

The constant desire to learn, a lot to read and a lot to work on yourself, not being afraid to make mistakes and look for the ways to correct them, an impartiality in the perception of new things, an openness to cooperation and the communicativeness are important factors that are necessary in order to become a good scientist:)

A true scientist should not be afraid of criticism, be able to accept it, be ready to always learn from mistakes - their own and others'
