How Phosphorus Deficiency Influences the activity of transporters and ion channels (particularly calcium ion channels) within plant body?
P is mobile nutrient while Ca is immobile. Usually in deficiency of mobile nutrients, begin in the older leaves, as the nutrients are transported to new growth and immobile nutrients causes first deficiency in the new growth as the plant was unable to take up sufficient amounts to transport them to the new shoots. When P energy moves to new growth than Ca energy may be transported. In common sense P help in vigorous growth and development of plant and makes plant able up take sufficient amount. However for appropriate understanding, mechanism of ''Mobile and immobile'' nutrients” transportability should be studied.
