i have to cover paper strips having particular reagents deposited ( in form of droplets) on them , in order to protect reagents from evaporating and want to use that tape for packaging/preservation of strips.

Have you tried Scotch(R) 811 removable tape? Not sure if the adhesive will interfere with your reagents though.
Even better, use two pieces of cling-wrap (aka plastic-wrap or food-wrap) to sandwich the paper strip in between.
