Do you we have a specific dress code for teachers?

There are very few colleges which have prescribed uniform for teachers in India. It is believed that dress code should be there for students but not for teachers.
As such fashion or uniform and teaching has no inter-relationship at all.
I personally like to have uniform in colleges for the staff members as it gives them a sense of pride for the institution that they work and it also helps in building brand. Uniform prevents unnecessary competition for fashion among staff members
It depends on the level. Teachers in the basic schools, specifically Female teachers, do have a precribed dress code. However, in Higher Education there is no specific dress code for lecturer. Lecturers dress according to their discretion.

I think uniform is essential to avoid fashion competing with teaching.
Personally I am not in favor of uniform in college- it appears as if we are kids
it depends on the type of school and the level but most of the government schools have prescribed uniforms for teachers.
Fashion is a very important thing to consider as a teacher because students tend to copy the dressing of their teacher, for they see their teacher as Mr right to them. This is very common in d basic level of education. This is the main reason why teachers are to be conscious about their dressing. But not to forget that the level also counts.
Some teachers wear dresses because of that particular school dress code uniformly but others too without any imposition from authority
