Can someone please help me interprate this output? The total effects are not significant, however the direct effects is significant and negative. I get a sobel Z=3.8 p
impossible to give you any hint without some information about the meaning of YX, MX, YM.X and YX.M . Are they interactions, independent variables, etc.?
It is much appreciated if you give more information regarding on your variables so that the expert can help you.
As others have said, more information is necessary, but I will say this as a general blanket:
Just because a regression is significant does not mean that it's variables are significant. That would be a similar situation to what you have here. The significance of a model is based on correlation, not on the slope of any individual predictors.
Also, it is possible for an interaction between variables to be significant when the variable itself is not. That could also be related to what you have here.
Either of these two things could help answer your question (at least in general principal), but neither is the answer to your question directly.
