Dairy products have often in public opinion a bad reputation regarding their impact on human health, and the research does not give definitive answers to this aspect.
I think this is very wrong and this perception is mainly due to a general poor knowledge of all nutritional aspects of dairy product by the common people, family doctors, etc.
Several studies actually show a beneficial effects, for example for dairy fat https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007%2Fs00394-012-0418-1
and dairy products now are gaining major interest for their nutritional properties.
In fact, they provide very interesting properties for both children and adults and also supply minor but essential nutrients, i.e. vitamins, minerals as well as major nutrients (proteins, fats and carbohydrates).
Generally the main problem for dairy products is linked to the fat, and to the cardiovascular disease and recommendations were made from totally excluding fats to a moderate consumption.
Now, the emphasis has shifted from fat quantity to fat quality and the attention has been directed on fat enrichment with potential healthy fatty acid as vaccenic, rumenic and a-linolenic acid acids.
In any case, dairy products are particularly suitable to be customized to meet human nutritional needs, either naturally by modifying ruminants dietary regimens or technologically, by adding functional ingredients to the milk and its derived products (prebiotics, probiotics, omega-3, etc.).

In my opinion, in order to get all the requirement nutrients one need to consume all five food groups, including fruits, vegetables, grains, protein foods, and dairy. however lactose intolerance and possible relationship between full fat diary and cardiovascular issues should be considered. also I think all dairy product with added ingredients such as sugar and flavor, thickening agent, etc are not good and dampening the possible benefits.
Indeed, dairy products are very nutritious. Cow milk is good source of nutrients for humans as it contains all the proteins, fatty acids and micronutrients. The nutrient composition also varies depending on what the cows ate and how they were raised, especially when it comes to the fatty components. The findings of numerous studies about impact daily diets are contradictory. Some studies have shown that dairy products have clear benefits for bone health. They improve bone density in the young and lower the risk of fractures in the elderly. Studies also indicated that full-fat dairy products are linked to a reduced risk of obesity and type 2 diabetes. Another study states that dairy can stimulate the release of insulin and IGF-1, leading to increased acne and a higher risk of prostate cancer in some studies. However, dairy seems to be protective against colorectal cancer. Further, consumption of dairy products may cause health problems in lactose intolerant and people allergic to milk proteins.
As I am not a meat eater, I like dairy products. But the main problem is that it is very easy to mix different adulterants with milk and milk products. India can be considered as THE HEAVEN OF ADULTERATION . I fear to eat any dairy product outside home. The famous Paneer (Cheese) is sold in Wholesale market of Kolkata, India @ Rs. 100/kilogram, less than the cost of three litre of milk!
In home also, the quality of milk used is not above suspicion.
SO, IT CAN BE SAID THAT EATING HABIT OF THE DAIRY PRODUCTS IS GOOD, IF THE QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT IS GOOD.
Consumption of cow’s milk and milk products is associated with overall diet quality and adequacy of intake of many essential nutrients including calcium, potassium, phosphorus, protein, vitamins A, D (if fortified), and B12, riboflavin, and niacin. but long time intake of dairy foods are associated with adverse reaction such as lactose intolerance
