Dose BcL-2 phosphorylation activate or inhibit its antiapoptotic function?.
Is it still controversial?, because in some papers they says Phosphorylation at one or multiple sites within the flexible loop domain of Bcl2 stimulates anti-apoptotic activity and dephosphorylating Bcl-2 would inactivate anti-apoptotic function. In contrast, other researchers showed opposite results.
Or its depend on the cells types that they used?
In some cell types, the phosphorylation can lead to distinct results, depending of the residue that will be phosphorylated.
if possible please send the papers which re showing controversial results. as much i know it is anti apoptotic only.
What dr. Husseni wrote is correct. Depending on the cell type, Bcl2 phosphorylation may have opposite effect regarding anti-apoptotic activity.
