Hey all

I want to prove that my nanoparticles are not toxic and do not lyse RBC. To establish this I have will have to do hemolysis assay.

I had looked several protocols on how to do hemolysis and several papers have mentioned to prepare a standard curve using hemoglobin standard and estimate the percentage of lysis. 'While some others have subtracted the absorbance from a the positive control such as 1% Trition X100 and calculated the relative percentage.

What is the standard protocol to be followed to do this assay?

What is ASTM standard E2524-08 (Standard Test Method for Analysis of Hemolytic Properties of Nanoparticles)
