We need to compare the self report of the family functioning of tw groups of adolescents. Those who have report life prevalence of self injury and those who don´t. Since we are having problems recruiting them, we'll end working with a small sample.
The assessment instrument is the MacMaster's FAD.
Attached is the U table. The table is divided into two types: (i) Two-Tailed Test and (ii) One-Tailed Test. Each test provides pValue at 0.01 and 0.05.
The table is listed by FIRST ROW = n1 and FIRST COLUMN = n1; the critical value is where the row and column intersects at the required pValue cell. As a rule of thumb, one needs to have sample sizes: (n1 and n2) more than the blank (undefined) cell in the table with the corresponding required pValue. For example, for two-tailed test at 0.01 pValue, sample size should be (n1 > 4 & n2 >8). If n1 and n2 less than that the table returns no reading value.
one more thong i want to add here if your data is not normalized so we can use non-parametric tests. have u checked it?
