The microbial biomass ratio is considered as an important indicator of microbial nutritional balance. High microbial biomass C:N ratio for example, usually indicates unbalanced nutritional condition in which native soil microorganisms could possibly compete for available nitrogen with plant. But how about microbial biomass N:P ratio in soil?
