Inclusion of Imidazolium Iodide (ImI) can play an important role in expansion of CH3NH3PbI3 (MALI) perovskite. It has been reported by some researchers that efficiency as well as stability of perovskite solar cell was enhanced with inclusion of ImI into MALI. Please discuss/share detailed method of inclusion of ImI into MALI. Can we doped ImI into formamidinium based perovskites?

The doping of molecular materials is accomplished by the socalled molecular doping where one has to mix the host material and the guest material in a molecular form by solving them with the required composition in a common solvent. This in case of spin coating deposition of the doped layer. Incase of forming the layer by evaporation one has to co evaporate the two materials simultaneously with the vapor composition is the required composition in the deposited layer.

Imidazolium iodide is an ionic liquid. Ionic liquids are very effective for perovskite solar cell efficiency and stability. It can be used as an additive to the perovskite precursor solution and as an interface modifier in between the various layers (ETL/Perovskite, Perovskite/HTL) in perovskite solar cell. Generally, it slows down the perovskite crystal growth (by ionic interaction with the perovskite precursor ions - MA+, FA+, I- ) to form a smoother and complete perovskite film. There are many derivatives of Imidazolium iodide which are used for the same purpose. The ionic liquid treated perovskite solar cells shows very high efiiciency (sometimes more than 20%) and stability.
