i'm studying inorganic material in QD-OLED and have sysnthesised NiO nanoparticles. at first , i didn't use stabilizer acetic acid. but afterward i realized that i had to use acetic acid as stabilizer. when i use aetic acid, the turbid solution(NiO NPs) changed a clear solution. but it seems like that NiO NPs is not coated in ITO that is treated by ozone generator(i use spin-coating). what is the role of stabilizer (detail plz) and what is the problem in coating process? and if the quantity of stabilizer is added more than reference value, what's the problem? thank you.

all materials with high molecular weight such as polymer or other materials such as acetic acid which have matrix structure can be used as stabilizer in nanomaterials synthesis because it prevent nanomaterial from collecting and made clusters (aggregation process) so it give stable particle size in the range below 100 nm .

Acetate covers your nanoparticles by coordinating to the Ni2+ ions. Thus, the acetate prevents the particles from agglomoration..
If you need experimental proof for this record IR spectra of sodium acetate, nickel acetate and your NiO/OAc particles ... the two latter should have similar bands.
