For layered materials, we can reduce the bulk counterpart to a single layer (say two-dimensional), the band gap will become larger as reducing the number of layers. But I am not sure about the change in electron affinity when the number of layers is reduced? Based on the definition of electron affinity, I speculate that the electron affinity is increased with reducing the number of layer? Anybody who can give me some suggestions? Thanks in advance!
