I plan to transiently transfect COS-7 cells:
What is the recommended maximum passage number for this cell line? Should I culture the cells for 2 weeks after thawing before transfecting them? I know that DEAE-dextran transfection is the most common method. However, I was wondering if anyone recommends a more efficient method??

Hi,
I would thaw the cells and pass them or split them three times . After , then I would transfer them at the correct density in the plates that you want . You could use 6 well plates or 24 well plates.
Lipofectamine works really well. Also, we have also used PEI.
