I have sintered Mg3Zn1Ca15Nb composite at 630-degree temperature and measured the phases present in the composite through XRD. But, no phases are detected in XRD analysis. So what can be the reason behind this?
Hello, there are some possibilities, first the Scan rate during XRD should be as low as possible.
and take Cross sectional view (must take Cross section area, not surface) and perform SEM+EDS and Check about 2nd phase particles, Later perform XRD analysis.
The published work by the Kumar, Ajit and Pandey, Pulak M. , titled "Statistical modelling of mechanical properties and bio-corrosion behaviour of Mg3Zn1Ca15Nb fabricated using microwave sintering " sharing you the same observation concerning no phase formation was observed in as per X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. Please try to request the full text from the authors on RG. Hope it's useful.
Best regards
