I've just managed to finally get the magical PASS for Abaqus with subroutines, I started testing and it seems to compile my fortran file just fine.

My sequence of actions was following:

1) Microsoft visual studio 2012 (although inside you will see that the version is called 11.0)

2) Intel Parallel Studio XE 2013

3) Abaqus 6.13-1

4) edit abaqus.bat and abq6131.bat in C:\SIMULIA\Abaqus\Commands by adding 2 lines:

call "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0\VC\bin\amd64\vcvars64.bat"

call "C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Composer XE 2013\bin\ifortvars.bat" intel64 vs2012

I'm not sure of what you want to do, but maybe this example helps: I needed to submit a job in Abaqus and, after, extract some data and pass it through a Fortran subroutine and, then, reload this data to Abaqus for further calculations.

I was able to perform this through scripting the whole thing, including calling the Fortran code (which was compiled beforehand), by using python commands (which Abaqus scripting tool allows you to use).

Surely, it is not the most appropriate method, but it done the trick.

For X64 Systems use   "C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Compiler\11.1\048\bin\intel64\ifortvars_intel64.bat"  instead of   "C:\Program Files\Intel\Compiler\11.1\048\bin\ia32\ifortvars_ia32.bat"

I have done interlinking of Abaqus and Fortran on my home PC(64 bit-Windows 7),but my laptop is of (64 bit-Windows 8) the interlinking is not properly done for it..

Is it Abaqus 6.13,Visual Studio 2012 and Fortran Compiler 11.0 for windows compatible.or for Windows 8, the procedure of interlinking is different

Hi Ajinkya, Intel fortran 11 used to work with 6.10 and 6.11, but I think Abaqus 6.13 requires Intel fortran 12.

What versions of Abaqus do you have on your home PC and your laptop?

I have the same problem! I am using Abaqus 6.14-2 version and I am just confused with which version of Visual Studio and Intel Fortran should work fine. Can someone just share their experience on which versions work fine for the said Abaqus version?

I read your very useful comment about linking Abaqus and FORTRAN, and finally after some months of trying I succeeded in getting the magical "pass" for user subroutine, following your procedure.

However, I could not get a successful "run" even for a simple umat subroutine. I get this message: "Problem during compilation - C:\Temp\umat.for".

I was wondering if you could kindly send me a umat and a "CAE" file to test on my laptop. even though a very simple file, I would really appreciate your time and consideration.
