A growing number of companies are selling products with insects - most commonly crickets and mealworms but others also. We dont really know what the allergenicity risks are.
Has anyone investigated this?
In many regions of Mexico people have a habit of eating insects and this has been doing it for several centuries. To date, there are no data available in that regard, studies that have investigated on food allergy have not shown that insects appear as a product related to allergic discomfort.
