Extended Finite Element Method (XFEM)

XFEM is not a new trend, since this type of fem approach is already worked with finite element softwares like ANSYS, SAMCEF etc.

As it enhance the rational finite element approach by refining the approximation spaces to solve differential equations with discontinuous functions, it can be further upgraded to perform various complex analysis. So XFEM can be useful in future finite element analysis.
