It is not an easy question to reply to. I have seen normal concrete canals to be working very well after 30 years or so without any leaching from it... in other cases I have seen concrete canals completely affected by those gypsum soil instabilities... to avoid them, I have seen normal concrete canals that are lifted from the soil to avoid structural problems arising from the underlying gypsum soil... I guess the best thing is to request some feedback from people having the same problem... they are specialist on so.. try to contact someone from the Aragon community at Spain... they are specialist on so since they have enormous extents of agricultural lands with gypsum soils...
