Can anyone tell me the most common marker for ovarian cancer?
There are variable bio-markers used for detection of Ovarian Cancer:
the most common is CA-125 for early detection
Others include: Human Epididymis Protein 4, Mesothelin, human kallikrein, Human prostasin (PRSS8), Glutathione S-Transferase Polymorphisms, FOLR1 (folate receptor alpha, miRNA, ALDH1 (Aldehyde Dehydrogenase 1), IL-6 & IL-8

CA-125 is simple and inexpensive test.
In our hospital we investigate CA 125 and Roma index.
Dear Colleague,
Good Day,
I am not a specialist in the field but I have few knowledge regarding this subject. I read a lot about it when I had to study it.
please, see the following websites, the are very good.

Thanks - some very interesting and useful articles there!
CA 12-5 is the best marker to detect ovarian cancer.
CA 125
CA 125 is the best marker to detect ovarian cancer. But I used to measure also CA 19.9, CEA and CA 15.3
Hi CA125 is the usual marker for Epithelial Ovarian Cancer (EOC) but CA19-9 is recommended also for mucinous EOC.
