What is the meaning of Recombinant E. coli strain?

Hi,

I am new to experimental biology.

I am searching the protein sequence of terminal-deoxynucleotidyl-transferase. My collaborator uses the product from promega. (link:

Would you mind explaining to me what is the meaning of Recombinant E. coli strain. Does it mean the enzyme from other organisms and synthesized in E coli? or it's E.coli enzyme?
