I know that PML is used to measure the confinement loss of PCF structure. The imaginary part of the PCF is directly proportional to the confinement loss of PCF structure. Therefore most researchers are using PML to obtain imaginary part of the effective refractive index of any PCF structure.

But I observed a fundamental mode of without having the imaginary part of effective refractive index. Does it mean that the confinement loss of that structure is zero?
