Dear Dr. , you have raised debatable and really an interesting issue.
Yes there are controversies about theory of technological singularity.
As known, the technological singularity is the hypothesis that the invention of artificial super intelligence (ASI) will abruptly trigger runaway technological growth, resulting in unfathomable changes to human civilization.
According to this hypothesis, an up gradable intelligent agent (such as a computer running software-based artificial general intelligence) would enter a "runaway reaction" of self-improvement cycles, with each new and more intelligent generation appearing more and more rapidly, causing an intelligence explosion and resulting in a powerful super intelligence that would, qualitatively, far surpass all human intelligence.
Though it natural to be concerned about the implications of rapidly advancing technology, from a scientific point of view, there was a controversy that a technological Singularity is unlikely as explained by Toby Walsh, AI researcher at Data 61, addressed at the 28th Australasian Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Canberra. The main reasons mentioned are:
Limits of intelligence
Exponential growth still won't solve all tasks
Diminishing returns
Meta-intelligence
Anthropocentrism
'Faster thinking dog’

JvNeumann was the first to mention this concept in a conversation with S.Ulman. I confirm to the 2 above posts, i.e. techno-singularity is an ideology. The starting age of exponentiality (exponential knowledge automation, see my project on RG) is definitely a new type of learning curve in human history, but natural cycles will not be abolished as long this world is a working part of physicality. However, many breakthroughs in medicine, finance and manufacturing can be expected, in positive terms.
I have received with gratitude your valuable contributions, both opinions help to clarify many doubts.
I think that, in any case, the disturbing quality of the Technological Singularity theme deserves its treatment in Education. Unfortunately, the curricula, generally, have not been given or aware of this issue, that is not advisable.
The social impact of any technological advance, regardless of its scope, requires being up to date in Education.
The truth is that the best way should not be ignorance of this phenomenon and yet it has been happening in many cases.
The technological singularity derived from the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and different fields of human activity, is controversial, mainly due to the following:
Is there a current that affirms that AI will overflow Human Intelligence (HI) and subordinate it to its own interests ????
Another current of knowledge more weighted, affirms that the HI is the one that has created and at the moment developed to inconceivable limits to the AI; however, the human creator with his HI will always have control of the AI.
Moreover, currently and from the anthropological and technological point of view, AI and the Internet are considered as prostheses of the HI, since it enhances its Creativity and Consciousness.
Congratulations dear Dr. Reinaldo Requeiro , and thank you so much for sharing this excellent piece on information. Unfortunately this topic is out of my research domain so that makes me unable to post scientific post. Regards, Emad
Technological uniqueness: It is when a supernatural artificial intelligence, equivalent to all human brains on earth, is expected to occur between 2030 and 2045. The name is derived from physics. It is difficult to predict what lies behind the black hole. It is difficult to predict what will happen after technological exclusivity
Artificial intelligence has the advantage that when it reaches a certain level of intelligence it will be able to design a computer smarter than it and the computer after which will design a computer smarter than and so on.
Technological exclusivity means individual life without the need for any person or orders or even sources. He has what he can use to achieve all his goals and develop himself only infinity. I do not speak here about divinity. The Creator is incomparable to His creation. God has no god but He made everything. The Almighty says: (Be and be) But we and what we do is from the creation of God and what makes a device to continue is material created by God before and will not be able to make this machine from nothing like God Almighty, End the universe and do the hour too.
What is the main contradiction of the theory of technological singularity? Buz what is meant with technical singularity?
a) Does it mean that there is an objection to the claim that technology is a singular, unique phenomenon in the development of civilization?
b) Or is it meant: There is a "theory of technical singularity", and there is another theory about technology, which means in the development of humanity, the technique has no singularity - and the questioner wants to know the main reason for this theory or thesis.
c) My answer: Everything in development is unique. Man, homo sapiens sapiens, is unique, but we also know that he had very close relatives who became extinct. In many other aspects too, human life is closely related to all other forms of so-called "lower" life.
d) Conclusion: The question can not be answered clearly. It depends on which background you choose. If one considers the invention of fire (or the cartwheel) as the most important technical invention of man, then IT is also a completely "normal" development, nothing singular at all. - If, on the other hand, one emphasizes different quality processes of the development of technology in the development of humanity, then one can assign uniqueness to each stage of development in its time. But why to have contradtions agaist this? Of course we can argue about that in detail.
Even the fact that technology today is capable of eradicating all humankind and making the earth uninhabitable is not a point of view to highlight its singularity. Man also destroys humanity through carelessness and misjudgment. The technology just makes everything a little faster and more thorough. Ration of man, which makes progress and technology possible in order to produce the common good, is at the same time the reason for man's "alienation" from the things he himself created and which, at a certain level of development, can also turn against him. This is a basic idea, indicated in the era of Enlightenment, called "alienation." The term was introduced by the philosopher Hegel, Karl Marx also took up the idea, but in a different way. Only: Man is always one step ahead in his thoughts and despatches of the technology he has already created, and decides what happens to technology. Because this thought is closely tied to power, it highlights the risk with which we must live today.
The theory of technological exclusivity summarizes that, over a quarter of a century, non-biological intelligence will match the accuracy and scope of human intelligence. It will then be surpassed by the continuous acceleration of information technology, as well as the ability of machines to share their knowledge immediately. This follows the ability of the machine to "perceive" or "consciousness" and to reach a level of intelligence similar to that of human beings.
Technology that creates stronger technology, which in turn develops faster. Man's attempts to catch up with technology continue until we reach a point in time called "the point of technological exclusivity" and set a history of 2045, when technological development will reach an insane level that is impossible for man to pursue, thus leaving him with two choices: And thus become extinct, or integrate into the technology that he has made to improve his abilities and become smarter
Sometimes, science is mixed with fiction. I do not object when there is a small dose of fiction since this may broaden the horizons of the researchers into fields not imagined before.
The issue here of who will win the competition b/w AI & HI is similar to a question raised about who will defeat the other: mythical super bacteria or generations of the man-made "synthetic" antibiotics?
In accordance with what have been observed throughout recorded history, no creature or instrument was superior than man & there is no clear-cut evidence that this will change.
Some thinkers claim that - with the rapid technological progress that characterizes this century - we are about to reach this point, which they called the point of technological exclusivity ...
The science of artificial intelligence is a modern science that has become very important in recent years for its many applications in vital fields such as medicine, military science, intelligence, computer, computer translation and others. It is one of the sciences that resulted from the modern technological revolution. Artificial intelligence is a science of pluralism, involving computer scientists, mathematics, engineering, psychology, linguistics, philosophy, and logic.
And is one of the modern computer science, which is looking for sophisticated methods to program it to do the work and conclusions similar even narrowly in those methods that are attributed to human intelligence, it is a science first looking at the definition of human intelligence and determine its dimensions, and then simulate some of its properties, This science is not intended to compare or similar to the human mind which God created by his ability and greatness in the machine that is made by the creature. Rather, this new science aims at understanding the complex mental processes that the human mind performs in the practice of thinking and thus translating these mental processes into The equivalent of the operations m A computer that increases the ability of the computer to solve complex problems
Programs that use artificial intelligence techniques are known to help people learn in Intelligent Computer Assisted-Instruction (ICAI) programs.
Intelligent learning technologies rely on the widespread use and application of concepts and theories of artificial intelligence and cognitive cognition. Progress in artificial intelligence leads to the improvement and development of educational systems through a profound understanding of how knowledge is represented, methods of reasoning and reasoning, Progress in Cognitive Cognitive Science leads to a profound understanding of the following scientific issues: how humans think how humans solve problems How humans learn.
The mating between Artificial Intelligence (Computer Science) and Cognitive Science (Cognitive Psychology, Cognitive Science) leads to the design and creation of new type of intelligence software with intelligence and qualities that approach human human behavior as it helps Students in education better and better and faster than previous generations of traditional educational software because of the characteristic of the perception and the ability to think, reasoning and reasoning in solving any problem in any area.
The first use of the term "singularity" in a technological context came in 1958 by John von Neumann. In the same year, Stanislaw Olam described "accelerating the pace of technological progress and changes in human life style more than ever before, which makes it seem as if we are approaching a fundamental uniqueness in human history, human affairs can not continue as we know it
The theory of technological exclusivity summarizes that, over a quarter of a century, non-biological intelligence will match the accuracy and scope of human intelligence. It will then be surpassed by the continuous acceleration of information technology, as well as the ability of machines to share their knowledge immediately. This follows the ability of the machine to "perceive" or "consciousness" and to reach a level of intelligence similar to that of human beings
Man is making a new world of artificial objects with help of artificial intelligence and automation. Such a man and man-made S&T can roar on tigers, but it can be defeated by pollutions generated by it. It is also peculiar that knowledgeables are average respected in the so-called knowledge / information society. Politicians and corporate has seized the world. And knowledges are making noise of knowledge and information societies.
