I have doing the function experiments of a monoterpene.
However, the level of oxidation of this monoterpene is required.
I do not know how to check this kind of chemical experiments.
As I searched that some reactions should be done with oxidizing agents, such as hydrogen peroxide, potassium permanganate and sodium dichromate. Is it true? And how could I know the level of oxidation?

Oxidation of monoterpene is possible with different oxidizing agents .If it contains double bond gets oxidized to carbonyl compds by ozone . The carbonyl group can be identified by IR str. band around 1700 cm-1. If epoxidized then epoxide ether IR band is observed between 1070-1100 cm-1.The nature of hydrogen s can be determined by PMR where as nature of carbons by CMR spectroscopy.
