The impact of new technologies on current methods of teaching and education are several:
- Moving from passive and rote teaching to the promotion of participatory and meaningful learning
- They allow both teacher and students to save "lost times" in performing repetitive tasks, facilitating meaningful learning
- They allow the teacher and the student to promote learning and assimilate knowledge in their own times and spaces, and according to teaching and learning styles
- They make feasible to an adequate level of quality, the graduates, courses of training and some masters and doctorate "Distance", and only with brief and iterative meetings face to put in common of said learning
- They democratize education to large groups of students worldwide, regardless of the location of both teachers and students; And in variants in real time (On Line) as in different times (Out Line)

I think that new technologies are useful, but it must be applied with special care. Let us take for example the (Master Sheet) which contains the total examination record for all the lessons of any pupil. Should we add this to the technology and announce it in internet? Could we believe it? There are several drawbacks. Best regards.
New technologies have deepened the essence of the teaching and learning processes and yielded many benefits. The involvement levels of students have been maximized with increased learning outcomes in their academic work. It has also increased the monitoring strategies of teachers and they are better equipped to trace the academic progress of learners through enhanced assessment formats via new technological applications. Fruitful group discussions between learners have been enhanced with the teacher playing his/her active role as a facilitator of the learning process.

The promise of and the on-going data based reassessment of on-line instruction has been a replication of the enthusiasm that accompanied programmed instruction, educational television, computer-assisted instruction, etc.. NICTs have had a wide array of effects on teaching and learning. I for one am fascinated by the way in which our created technologies are morphing our evolutionary trajectory as a species. Recently a pair of grad students at Michigan State University conducted a Twitter analysis on the hashtag #MTBoS. They analyzed the tweets with this hashtag to discover if the hashtag could, in fact, represent a professional community of practice. Their results were confirmatory of this hypothesis.
This study is interesting in that we now have an absolutely abstract non-entity by-product of a NICT that IS a community of practice. Our technologies are changing our social brains, and doing so in fascinating ways.

I can say that from personal experience of teaching and observing people teach using technology, that it tends to depend on the person's ability to effectively use the item. In my experience, it should the technology that makes the experience for the student and the teacher to be easier, quicker and allow a better way of understanding. Unfortunately, there are instances when money is thrown at teachers and lecturers to buy technology without a proper evaluation of the goals and impact of the device.
The most impact that I have seen in this area is that the use if ICT instinctively catches students interest regardless the age. In the process students get to learn much more than they would ordinarily. Using new technologies in teaching inspires in students more confidence in the teacher as someone whose lead they can follow as different from ones they might see as belonging to analogue age.

Naturally, the technology (NICTs) has vast impacts on teaching and learning processes. However, the reach of modern technology to all is quite impossible. Economical gap among students hiders the proper benefits of NICT to economically weaker sections of the society.
How to search knowledge, how to get knowledge, how to use knowledge are still big issues for teaching and eduction, we are not much smarter than the predecents even we have NICTs
There are many advantages / disadvantages of using modern teaching means and methods in the training – educational process. Following benefits are identified:

---stimulating creativity;
----students’ interest regarding the content taught increases if the teacher applies modern teaching methods;
---it facilitates the efficiency of the training process by providing faster access to information;

From my experience within the British secondary schools, the learning platform (VLE) is not used as the students do not want to engage with it. If they have to click more then three times, it takes too long and it hard-work. They want soft and hardware to do all the work for them. To a point that they do not want to type their writing. They want software to be simple, clean and fast (instant gratification). The use of high impact presentations are unwanted. The students just want the core facts and an explanation. The students have gone through the product life cycle and hit saturation!
Technology, mainly, the World Wide Web has presented teachers and students numerous advantages, possibilities, and massive amounts of materials to improve their teaching and learning.
Seven ways technology is impacting modern education. These ways are as follows:
1) Active engagement with the learning material.
