If you're using an intervention in classrooms and testing knowledge at pre-intervention, post-intervention (immediately after) and then again at a retention time period, how long is the ideal retention interval? I've heard 6 weeks but I can't find a reference. Any references or ideas?
Dear Megan Tracey , I have seen several periods in original research papers, since 3 month until several years. I think, it is according the goal of the research.

As for the question about the retention period of knowledge / who is known in the degree of interest and inclination towards a specific teacher or subject in it, that knowledge will be stored in a long-term memory because it indicates interest in it

please do make the concept knowledge operational ....what sort of knowledge do you mean? Perhaps the revised taxonomy of bloom is useful for your research
I totally agree with Jesús Pérez . According to Ebbinghaus forgetting curve, memory declines over time. Therefore knowledge retention should be measured longitudinally at different time points.
Thanks for your comments everyone. Apologies for not being more specific. I am measuring schools students knowledge on a specific subject before and after a 1 day intervention. I then wanted to know what a suitable retention period would be to measure the retention of that knowledge. Looking around, education research seems to recommend 2-4 weeks. Thanks for the resources, I will continue to read through them.
Attention reflects upon retention which further reflects upon reception. Degree of attentivity or concentration will decide retentivity. No time interval as such but full concentration for a moment or two can also pay off.
Most of educational research recommends 3-4 weeks, due to the fact that forgetfulness and remembering factors do not interfere.
