Searching for the influence of surface residual stresses and/or roughness on th S-N curves under HCF or VHCF loading conditions of cast Ni-based superalloys (like Inconel 792, Inconel 738LC, DS or single crystalline alloys), almost no study can be found, neither at low temperatures, nor at high temperatures where creep phenomena could be expected. Can someone share its experience in this field ?
I would expect residual stresses relaxation processes or oxidation assisted failure modes in this field, but no clear comparison exists in the open literature.

Experimental data to support this in the above-mentionned context ? Your answer is too vague and general. Ok, it is well known that roughness reduces fatigue life (reason why we are polishing samples !), but for HT HCF of cast Ni-based alloys ?
Under tensile or bending loads, surface roughness generally creates local surface stress concentrations that foster crack growth and can thus reduce fatigue strength. The magnitude of the effect depends on the notch sensitivity of the metal alloy. Have you tried using Google Scholar for your search, rather than just plain google? It restricts your search to scholarly publications (and patents if you wish).
