Hello, I am trying to inject KLH in chicken as antigen not conjugated with protein. is it correct to think that KLH is used as antigen?
i know that KLH is well known for its potent and safe immune-stimulating properties but i want to use it as antigen not carrier protein.
KLH is very large size and high moelcular weigh so if i soluble KLH in PBS is better than NaCl or what ?
Any answer appreciated .

Native protein or recombinant protein bigger than 20 kd not need to carrier for immune response stimulating .
for hapten or peptide antigen you need carrier conjugation method for suitable immune response >>>
you can use from Maleimide Activated KLH for this purpose .you should conjugated peptide via Glutaraldehyde to BSA or KLH .

I do not think you will get a good result, and most of the antibody will be produced against KLH.peptide conjugation is necessary step in this work for anti peptide or anti hapten antibody production.
