We are going to clone a protein in a pCMV-Myc plasmid. Looking for fluorochrome-conjugated antibodies to track the efficiency of transfection, I found both cMyc and Myc antibodies. I don't know which one I should buy.
As Adam has pointed out, such myc tag fusion proteins utilize a standardized epitope derived from the c-Myc protein. 9E10 is an excellent monoclonal for detecting this epitope tag.
Apart from this epitope tag, you may see references to the oncoproteins c-Myc, N-Myc, and L-Myc. Those are encoded by three different MYC genes, and shouldn't concern you in the context of myc fusion proteins.
