What is the difference between Chromium Controller and iX from 10x Genomics?

I know that iX has possibility to upgrade to X, but in regard to data acquisition it has same capabilities as Controller. Also, iX has new interface design and improved temperature stability, but his output is same as Controller. Is the major difference between two only possible upgrade to X?
