I designed an antenna by randomly selecting the L-shaped slot on the patch and ground plane. But is there any method by which we can select a specific shape of the slot to obtain multiband characteristics?
Miss Sapna Chaudhary just found out the E-field in a standard patch antenna first. Then cut the shape where the electric field strength is less. a shape will be created. most likely you can judge the shape of the alphabet....

Book by balanis on Antenna deisgn and analysis is very good. You can look at these articles from IEEE Transactions. Also you can find some really nice and conceptually sound articles from IEEE xplore that can provide deep insight into the design of structures and a proper physical and mathematical explanation for the same.

In my opinion , you have to analyse your design before to truncate or add some shapes and what do you need exactly
Ibrahim Fortas, thanks. But that is the question, how to analyze the structure and get an idea of cutting slots for multi-band resonance?
You can also use surface current to know exactly the active region for each frequency ,it's simple and practical
