I'm attempting to simulate a crossed dipole antenna. For excitation, I've placed a lumped port along each dipole. However, the resulting radiation pattern is similar to that of a single dipole. I've set the input power to 1W for each individual source. What could be causing this issue, and how can I correctly configure the simulation to achieve the expected radiation pattern for a crossed dipole antenna?
If you excite these with equal power in phase, it will look like a single monopole slanted 45 degrees. If you make them 180 degrees out it will be at -45 degrees. If they are 90 degrees different in phase you will get circular polarization along the axis and elliptical polarization in other places. That is what you get from a crossed dipole.

Malcolm White I am expecting an omnidirectional radiation pattern but even though the two dipoles are fed by two separate ports with 90 phase difference, I am not getting the required radiation pattern
If the phase difference is 90 degrees you should get circular polarization in +/- x directions, z polarization in +/-y directions and x polarization in +/-z directions. You can check this.
I can't tell which way up your polar diagram is. It looks like the dips might be at 45 degrees so maybe your dipoles are in phase and not 90 degrees out.
