Gulzar - Research suggests that we are often our own worst enemies when it comes to accomplishing our goals. Although we might think that we’re using our time effectively, in reality, many of us are interrupting ourselves so often that we simply can’t get anything done. Lack of funding or no funding, distractions from routine administrative and examination duties, excessive teaching loads and excessive use of social networking sites are the common distractions and biggest threats to research productivity.

In my situation, myself! You can perform research at any condition, if you wish to do so. No ifs and buts. Just concentrate and head down. Barrier and obstacles would be there all the time. Focus and do it and dont forget to motivate your peers as well. Remember “ No excuse would replace succeed”

The main threats to research productivity in india especially, is lack of funds. Also some international journals are very biased and have a high rejection rate. Sometimes there is no co-operation between collaborators.

All the above mentioned are threats of research productivity. It should be remembered that nothing is freely available, for each one of them, one has to consolidate and build up. One attains productivity by research publications, needs money to publish and interact with research colleagues, one may do research projects cannot be able to find proper funding or a correct organization to fund, here also money involves and one may be active in collaborative research and a person may not find dedicated and committed people to work with this person.

Lack of funds in that great adventure in the unknown. I would do a better with translaters, graphic designers to design the books better than I do, press contact, etc; but, still, I'm quite proud of the job already done, all by myself.

The greatest threat to research productivity is lack of sincerity, hard work, dedication and commitment of an individual.

My biggest threat is procrastination! It’s true that I have a heavy academic workload which contributes to low energy, time issues and fatigue. And secondly, the publication system in the scientific community, when every action of the group should be published, regardless of whether the text has been worked out properly, or is it just a “publication” for the report. In my case, one of the main threats to productivity in my research would be the fact that, as a university professor, I have to combine teaching and research work. In times of strong teaching obligations, it is very difficult to be able to focus on research and continuously dedicate the time required for it. As a consequence of this there is a pause in the investigation. On the other hand, the lack of available funds, to which we can add the fact that there are quite a few relevant journals in my research field that charge publication fees, will be an additional difficulty for scientific productivity.

Science is to be seen as Science. The moment, it is though of as a business idea or a competition, it becomes waste. Every research needs its own time. You cannot force nature to answer your questions. You need to find them and analyze them. Understanding nature is what Science is all about. The ambition is the threat.the dream of becoming the scientist is the threat. Threat is the world's ways of recognizing the intellect diverges you from the purpose which is service to humanity. The disability of keeping up the professionalism is the threat. Then there are tragedies also.

I feel the greatest threat to research productivity is also lack of good proper funding. Funding to learn, develop and to do research, can create opportunity to excel and achieve. Government is also trying to improve research by many means and one has to get potential to grab proper funding.
