I am actually trying to load Schizophyllan, which is a beta-glucan, into polycaprolactone solution, which I will later use for electrospinning. PCL has been dissolved in 7:1 (v/v) chloroform and methanol at a concentration of 8 wt%/volume. Schizophyllan is soluble in water. How do I load this into the polymer solution? The problem that occurs here is that beta glucan is immiscible in chloroform and methanol, and PCL is immiscible in water. When I mix the two solutions, i.e Schizophyllan and PCL solution, precipitates are formed. What could be an another alternative?
